Small businesses and San Diego's economy stand to benefit from The Scripps Research Institute's revised $200 million research agreement with Sandoz Pharmaceutical Corp.
The agreement cuts back on how many scientific discoveries Sandoz can license and extends the time that these discoveries are available for small businesses to examine, said Scripps president Richard Lerner.
In addition, the agreement sets up an Office of Small Business Collaborations at Scripps. This office will seek small businesses interested in working with Scripps, one of the nation's top biomedical research centers. Part of the revenue from the Scripps/Sandoz pact will be set aside to ...
