Imagine, if advertisers had to admit it when a competing product was just as good as their own: "Apples from Washington: New York's and Michigan's are just as good"; "One hundred percent Florida orange juice: the equal of any"; or "One hundred percent Colombian coffee handpicked by Juan Valdez: there is other coffee just as good."
That is the rule Monsanto Company wants to govern milk marketing. It is suing two small dairies to force them to post notices that milk produced with Monsanto's additives as equal in quality and safety to milk produced without them, and to bar the dairies from stating that they do not use milk produced with Monsanto's additive product.
