NEW YORK -- Mark Cross is on the move again. when the leather goods company, which dates back to 1845, was purchased last May by Sara Lee Corp., a number of its stores were closed and portions of its lines were discontinued, including a licensed arnold scaasi handbag line.

Now the firm is ready for a re-generation, according to Alan krantzler, vice president and general manager. Mark Cross has plans to reestablish its retail presence and expand into the wholesale arena for the first time. "Our goal is to rebuild the brand across the country," said Krantzler in an interview at the company's Fifth Avenue flagship store here.
