Dec. 1--HAMILTON -- The Hamiltonian will close its doors indefinitely Sunday, and a local women's group is having a ball.
The Hamilton Junior Women's League is celebrating 60 years with its 58th annual ball Saturday at the hotel, which has been sold to Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company and will reopen as a Courtyard by Marriott.
The ball kicks off with a cocktail hour and silent auction at 6:30 p.m. with dancing going into the night, said Rhonda Brown, the nonprofit group's historian.
"This is the biggest fundraiser we have throughout the year," she said. It is also the first time retiring members and new members meet.
