Dec. 2--The Howard County Health Department is being recognized by the Indiana AIDS Fund for the work done on education and prevention of the disease over the past 12 years.
The Howard County Health Department will receive one of five Brave Heart Awards presented by the Indiana AIDS Fund at ceremonies Wednesday in Indianapolis.
"Howard County is a leader in the state," Steve Everett, director of the Indiana AIDS Fund, said on Thursday. "We have known that for a long time and the board determined it was time it was recognized. It is very deserved."
