GREEN BAY -- Jon Ryan was back at work Thursday, and the Green Bay Packers first-year punter was doing his best, as he has all season, despite a very heavy heart.
"He goes through things like a pro," said kicker Dave Rayner, Ryan's good friend. "But at the same time, family's a lot more important than being a punter in the NFL."
The Packers agree, which is why they arranged for Ryan to fly home Tuesday to Canada after the team arrived home from Monday night's game at Seattle for what might have been his last chance to see his father, Bob, alive.
