Dec. 3--The Yankees are going to the winter meetings with a reduced shopping list -- or maybe it's just a secret shopping list. Rumors and information, which used to leak from the organization like water from a ruptured main, have been in much shorter supply since general manager Brian Cashman acquired more power a year ago. The Yankees' winning $26 million bid for the rights to Japanese lefthander Kei Igawa took nearly everyone by surprise and was an indication of how close to the vest Cashman is playing it.
