A NEWSPAPER yesterday said it had complained to the head of a police force after a senior detective obtained the private mobile phone records of one of its reporters.

The Ipswich-based East Anglian Daily Times (EADT) said editor Terry Hunt had written to Suffolk chief constable Alastair McWhirter asking for a "full explanation" for Detective Superintendent Roy Lambert's actions.

Police gained access to Mark Bulstrode's phone records after he unearthed information about officers reopening an investigation, said the newspaper.
