Dec. 1--ADELANTO -- City Council members voted unanimously Wednesday evening to adopt traffic impact fees that some local developers say are outrageous.
"The fees are structured per acre, not per square foot," said Mehdi Mostaedi, senior vice president of Lee & Associates. "They are damaging to any future developments that are of substantial size."
Mostaedi said city officials are asking for an additional $17,810 an acre regardless whether the land is for residential or commercial development. With five of his own projects under way in the growing community, he said the numbers just don't pencil out.
