Nov. 30--MOUNT DORA -- Lt. Roger Chilton, the Police Department's spokesman, was placed on administrative leave with pay Wednesday after a transvestite accused him of sexual assault, according to the attorney representing the 12-year department veteran.
Chilton said he only was giving the man dressed as a woman a ride to a convenience store on U.S. Highway 441 in Orange County as he requested, attorney Samuel Oliver of Tavares said.
"Right now, he's [Chilton] very stunned by the allegations, and he's quite saddened by how people will view this," Oliver said.
Chilton could not be reached for comment.
