Piaggio President Roberto Colaninno says Moto Guzzi plans worldwide sales of more than 10,000 units this year, up from less than 7,000 units in 2005.
Moto Guzzi became part of the Piaggio Group in December 2004. The Piaggio Group's significant push to re-launch Moto Guzzi through an updated distribution network and impressive series of new model launches has led to a rebound in worldwide sales for the brand. Worldwide sales increased 76 percent in 2005 compared to 2004, and by a further 70 percent in the first half of 2006-5,900 motorcycles were sold during the first six months of 2006 compared to 3,950 sold during the same period in 2005.
