THE life of Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban could come out straight from a story book that describes the successes from persistence. He was born from impoverished parents who died while he was still studying. Despite the fact that he peddled cigarettes, shined shoes, and hawked newspapers while studying at the Juan Luna Elementary School and Mapa High School, he graduated with honors from both institutions. In college, he continued to support his studies by selling his classmates textbooks and his professors and university officials Bibles.
