China to mark toxic electronic information product imports

Shanghai. December 6. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's Ministry of Information Industry said new guidelines will be implemented in March that will help identify electronic information products that contain toxic substances.

All EIPs entering China that contain toxic or hazardous substances are required to bear an "e" mark identifying the name and amount of harmful substances they contain based on a list of six hazardous substances that will also come into effect in March.
