LOS ANGELES -- Skechers USA Inc. and the maker of Dr. Martens footwear are engaged in a legal battle that threatens the rights of Skechers to distribute the footwear in the U.S.
Last Wednesday, AirWair Ltd., a division of R. Griggs Group Ltd., Wollaston, England, said it had terminated its distribution relationship with Skechers because the Santa Monica company failed to pay Griggs several million dollars for products shipped.
Griggs' move came after Skechers filed a complaint against AirWair USA Ltd. on June 30 in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking undetermined damages from the Portland, Ore.-based competitor. Skechers has accused the Dr. Martens ...
