Self-compacting concrete, new bearings and a fleet of reliable lifts form the backbone of a $20-plus-million effort to rejuvenate seven bridges in the city's western highway.
In recent years calls have been issued to rebuild an eastern section of the Scajaquada Expressway. The reason those calls have been issued isn't hard to understand: Essentially it cuts off two college campuses and the surrounding community's access to the city's Fred Olmstead-designed Delaware Park.
