Green building has a vocal advocate in a high place.
Thomas Leppert is CEO of Turner Construction Co., the nation's largest contractor and largest builder of green building projects.
Even Leppert admits his resume - leader of a multibillion-dollar firm and an employee in Ronald Reagan's White House - doesn't readily point to him being a green building advocate.
But instead of viewing green building as a movement that can be a drag on profitability, Leppert said he regards construction of environmentally friendly structures as a profit center and the right thing to do.
