Metropolitan Club William H. Gates III of Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) will become the youngest CEO ever to receive the Chief Executive Officer of the Year Award, which is presented annually by Chief Executive magazine.

 
Outgoing 1993 Chief Executive of the Year Jack Welch, chairman and chief executive of General Electric, will be presenting this year's award.  In 1981, Welch himself became the youngest CEO in GE's history, as he was 45-years-old when he took the position, the magazine announced today.
