A few months ago, looking ahead to this special, telecommunications theme issue, and hoping to put a "human face" on the technology, I set out on the "information superhighway" looking for parents of children with disabilities. I got online and posted a few public invitations for parents to share their experiences with readers of Exceptional Parent.
To say simply that the response amazed me would be an understatement. The sheer numbers took me by surprise--more than 300 pieces of electronic mail ("e-mail") flooded my online mailbox.
