Article: GALILEO : ELEVEN CITIES VYING TO HOST SURVEILLANCE AUTHORITY.(Galileo global satellite navigation system)

Presenting the Green Paper on the Galileo global satellite navigation system adopted on 8 December by the European Commission to the press (see Europolitics 3205), Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot reviewed the candidates vying to play host to the headquarters of the network's surveillance authority. Eleven names have been submitted to the Commission: Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Cardiff, Valetta, Ljubljana, Munich, Nordwijk, Prague, Rome and Strasbourg.
