Among the Japanese major players exhibiting at JIMToF, Mori Seiki Co. (Nagoya, Aichi Pref.) made news by booking the lion's share of 270 standard-sized "booths" (out of a total of 5,125 for the entire exhibition). Mori's stand was spacious enough to accommodate 25 machines and tables for negotiations, and to set up an elevated stage for shows. They included an award ceremony to honor the winners (users) of a company-sponsored metal cutting contest. By contrast, Okuma Corp.
