It is vital for African-Americans to network for their common good. In spite of media images to the contrary, we are historically a race of successful people, and we have always been a successful people, even when in chains.
In this chapter, I will provide several outstanding examples of Afrocentric networks. Some of the networks are comprised of like-minded individuals; some are networks of charitable, religious, or service groups; and some are private business organizations joined together to have a greater impact for the good of their communities via this new form of the Underground Railroad.
