Abstract
My goal in this paper (2) is to introduce a new version of moral relativism. I will not spell this view out in its entirety, (3) but I will do enough to suggest that the traditional distinction between the "universality" versus the "relativity" of moral value is a false dichotomy. Even moral values that are irreconcilable or inconsistent at the deepest level of principle are a function of a common range of moral consciousness Even incommensurable moral diversity is still rooted in the same basic (although hidden) human nature.
