NEW YORK & MEXICO CITY -- The Mexico City Metro authority, STC (Sistema de Transporte Colectivo), has announced its intent to award ALSTOM a 56 million euro contract for the refurbishment of 25 train sets for its Line 8 fleet with new propulsion technology. ALSTOM, which originally supplied these trains in 1982, also secured the maintenance for them over 10 years as part of this new contract.
Mexico City Metro is Mexico's largest metro system and the fourth largest in the world, providing service to the Mexican Federal District and surrounding municipalities in the State of Mexico.
