Dec. 13--The Aberdeen school district ranked seventh of the state's 165 districts for budget efficiency for fiscal 2006. The South Dakota Department of Education has tabulated the rankings based on general-fund budgets and number of students based on the 2005-06 school year. Many of the most efficient districts are in the Sioux Falls area: Tea ranks No. 1, followed by Beresford, Harrisburg, Brandon Valley, Dell Rapids, Lennox and Aberdeen. Rounding out the top 10 are Madison at No. 8, Hamlin at No. 9 and Watertown at No. 10. Aberdeen has been in the top 10 for several years.
