Dec. 13--WILLIAMSBURG -- A legal battle between Fairfield Resorts and immigrant workers at the company's Williamsburg-area timeshares could expand following a judge's decision to grant class-action status.
About 300 to 400 people could be eligible for inclusion in a collective action, according to Sandy Waterman, an attorney for the workers. Waterman said he represents about 105 workers in three lawsuits against Fairfield and some companies that staff the resorts. The legal battle began in August 2005 with one lawsuit filed on behalf of 44 workers from Mongolia, Slovakia, Russia and Ukraine. Workers have said they are owed three years in ...
