PORTLAND - A scheduling snafu last year resulted in Oregon meeting undersized Prairie View A&M in the Pape Jam.
The result was as expected - the Ducks pounded the Panthers by 66 points.
But the fallout from that game came as a bit of a surprise. Oregon came out of it with what coach Bev Smith called "a false sense of security," and the Ducks opened Pac-10 conference play 1-5.
To avoid that this season, with conference play less than two weeks away, the Ducks (5-1) will meet Colorado of the Big 12 Conference in today's version of the Pape Jam in the Rose Garden at 3 p.m. The Buffaloes are 5-4, with ...
