Dec. 14--Music fans are forsaking Apple's iTunes music download service in droves -- a trend that will dash the hopes of music labels like EMI.
The labels had hoped that young music fans would eventually prefer to buy copyrighted songs from legitimate services like iTunes rather than download them free from illegal song-swapping sites. But latest figures show falling sales of music downloaded from legitimate sites.
