Dec. 15--After efforts stalled for the second time Thursday, law enforcement officers said they will not try again this year to remove a bullet from Joshua Bush's head.
"If we try again it will be after the first of the year," said Port Arthur Police Lt. Pat Powell.
A bullet in 17-year-old Bush's head may be evidence in the shooting death of a man following a burglary at a Port Arthur car lot in July, according to search warrant affidavits.
Bush has refused to allow the bullet's extraction but District Judge Layne Walker has issued search warrants authorizing the projectile's surgical removal.
