Dec. 15--La Marque's football team is within two victories of claiming its first state championship since 2003 and the fifth in school history.
If La Marque can get by Schertz Clemens Saturday afternoon in its Division II Class 4A semifinal, the 13-1 Cougars will earn a shot at either Wolfforth Frenship or Waco, the other semifinalists who also play Saturday.
