Poland is ready to compromise on its position regarding its veto on the EU's negotiations with Russia on the new Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA), said Lech Kaczynski, President of Poland, after a series of talks with EU leaders at the European Council on 14 December. A day later he confirmed that the "agreement is very close and negotiations will be finalised most probably at the nearest Coreper [Committee of Permanent Representatives] meeting next week".
