Dec. 15--SOUTHPORT -- The emergence of developments such as Cedar Creek at Deer Point Lake are why Tom Neubauer calls the northern part of Bay County the fastest growing area.
"It's sort of the next frontier," Neubauer said.
Neubauer, ERA Neubauer Real Estate owner, attended a Cedar Creek groundbreaking ceremony Thursday as construction began on the new 350-acre Southport housing development.
His company is handling sales for Cedar Creek's 190 home sites, and Neubauer said the planned community offers people the space they expect when they move away from the city and into less populated areas.
