Troubles for the scandal-plagued University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey escalated in recent weeks with the filing of two recent retaliation lawsuits by employees who claim to have been harassed, suspended and, in one case, fired, for reporting fraud.
Kathryn Gibbons, UMDNJ's former executive director of revenue policy and fiscal analysis and Michael Nappe, a UMDNJ information technology and support specialist, claimed in separate lawsuits that they were targeted by UMDNJ for whistle-blowing.
