Evidence supporting the importance of childhood physical activity continues to mount. In order to better promote physical activity for children, it is important to understand where children accumulate their physical activity and how they use their free time. During the typical school day, children have 3 distinct opportunities in which they can be active: physical education, recess/lunch, and outside of school (either before or after school).
