CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. _ It remains civilization's most dazzling technical achievement: Twenty-five years ago Wednesday, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon.
But just before they took those first steps, that ``giant leap for mankind,'' Aldrin reached into his Personal Preference Kit and pulled out a Bible and a silver chalice and sacramental bread and wine.
There, on the moon, using items that he smuggled on board, Buzz Aldrin celebrated Communion ``to recognize that we are all one mankind under God.''
