Dec. 15--DOVER -- When someone wishes Lewes resident Jean Carlson "happy holidays" or "season's greetings," she doesn't thank them or wish them the same.
In fact, she gets kind of annoyed.
That's because Mrs. Carlson, a devout Christian, considers such generic greetings a blatant attempt to take Christ out of Christmas.
And she's not going to take it lightly.
"I correct them right then and there," she said, noting that her preferred holiday greeting this time of year is "merry Christmas," because it reflects the meaning of the holiday -- Christ's birth.
