ONE of the most eagerly anticipated events of 2007 is the gala reopening of St George's Hall on April 23.
A day-long series of celebrations will mark the completion of the pounds 23m refurbishment of possibly one of the world's finest examples of neo-classical architecture.
Thanks to funding from Heritage Lottery Fund, the first phase of St George's Hall's refurbishment started in September, 2002, and since then it has been painstakingly restored by a team of historic architectural experts. The results of their labours will be unveiled to the public, who will be able to see at first-hand how the hall has been lovingly restored to its former glory.
