Dec. 19--Two of Akron's largest cardiology groups say that improving efficiency and patients' access to care are at the heart of their upcoming merger.
Effective Jan. 1, Akron Cardiology Consultants Inc. and the Heart Group are joining to form Northeast Ohio Cardiovascular Specialists.
The new practice will have 33 cardiologists and 260 clinical and clerical staff members in seven locations: Akron City Hospital and Akron General Medical Center; West Cedar Street in Akron; Barberton; Ravenna; Wadsworth; and Wooster.
