Dec. 19--DICKSON CITY -- Shoppers could soon be purchasing beer for takeout at Wegmans supermarkets throughout the state.
For now the nearest would be in Lackawanna County, where the company's request to transfer a restaurant liquor license to its Dickson City store is up for approval at a special public hearing tomorrow before the borough's council.
But the family-owned chain with 11 stores in Pennsylvania has bigger plans, said Jo Natale, spokeswoman for Wegmans.
"We will be pursuing restaurant liquor licenses for all our Pennsylvania stores," Natale said.
