I have been to Africa on several occasions, always on assignment, and each time it is a spiritual journey. There is something about the continent that seizes upon my spirit. Maybe it's because, as an African-American, I have heard over the years that this should happen--or maybe it's simply the children. Those beautiful, guileless, inviting brown faces. So innocent. So powerful. It has to be the children.
