On November 17th, 2006 construction was simultaneously started on an 800 000 t/a PX (para-xylene) project and a 1.5 million t/a PTA (purified terephthalic acid) project in Haicang South Industry Zone, Fujian province of southern China. Covering an area of 114.74 hectares and 14.8 hectares, the two projects won the approval of the National Development Reform Commission (NDRC) respectively in July and October 2006. (CCR2006, No.23)
