Brown-baggers on the lookout for healthful sandwich fixings are being lured by misleading nutritional claims to buy luncheon meats that are as much as 80 percent fat.

Many packages of luncheon meats, including Oscar Mayer, Eckrich and Butterball, proclaim that the meat inside is 80 percent to 98 percent fat-free. But according to nutritionists, those luncheon meats may be as much as 80 percent fat.

"It's so erroneous," said dietitian Sharon Morlan, of the labeling.
