A hydraulic leak in their chartered TWA airplane prevented the Cincinnati Reds from flying to Cooperstown on Monday, forcing cancellation of the Hall of Fame Game.
Instead, the Boston Red Sox - the Reds' opponents - played a seven-inning intrasquad game that ended in a 4-4 tie.
The Reds were scheduled to leave Montreal's Dorval Airport at 9a.m. Monday for a flight to Utica. But when a leak in the hydraulic system was detected on their Boeing727 during the routine walkaround prior to the flight, the jet was not allowed to take off, TWA spokesman Donald Morrison said.
