Twenty-four hours earlier, Steve Adkins had visions standing beside Don Mattingly and Steve Sax in Yankee Stadium. Instead, he was in Heritage Park with Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble.
The supporting cast didn't matter to Adkins, who has dominated Eastern League baseball since his recall from ClassA in late May.
Adkins, lowering his Double-A earned-run average to 1.25, pitched his fifth two-hitter in six starts Thursday night, helping the Albany-Colonie Yankees sink the Hagerstown Suns, 3-1.
