Dec. 19--And here I thought I was being charitable when I gave the state Department of Education a "D" for its horrendous handling of the cheating scandal in Camden.
That was in August, long after high standardized test scores in the troubled school district aroused The Inquirer's curiosity; after a high school principal publicly accused his boss of being a cheat and wound up getting fired; after Camden's imperious superintendent resigned abruptly amid questions about performance bonuses she received without the school board's knowledge.
