Dec. 19--WALTERS -- Bret Herrala always liked mechanic work. Growing up, he worked on his car -- fixing or adding small parts every now and then. And unlike his two older brothers, he worked alongside his dad at Walters Outdoor Power Equipment when he was in high school.
So even after he earned a degree in business information technology from Virginia Tech in June 2005, Herrala returned to Walters to work with his dad, Ted, who has co-owned the store on Walters Highway for 25 years.
