In the mid-1970s, there was a young college graduate in with a master's degree in international law and diplomacy from Harvard who wandered into a Boston performance by Marcel Marceau.
It proved to be a turning point in Richard Zachary's life. He read a leaflet distributed at the performance offering a workshop in mime. He took it and, as a result, he bid his past goodbye and flew to France.
The result of this odyssey can be seen Friday at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady when Zachary and his small troupe bring "Theatre Fantastique" to town for one performance.
