Retired iron workers and preservation-minded city residents gathered at the former Burden Iron Works headquarters Saturday to commemorate a stretch of unused riverfront they said had once helped shape the nation's Industrial Revolution.
As the old timers and preservationists exchanged recollections and relics from the mill days, business leaders and city officials at the reunion said it was only a matter of time before the furnaces in South Troy were fired up again.
