No quick starts from this product, the Federal Trade Commission says of a lighter-to-lighter automobile battery charger.
According to the FTC, Cooper Rand Corp., a New York City company, falsely claimed that its "Auto Starter" could restart auto batteries as quickly as jumper cables.
Not so, says the feds and in a consent agreement announced for public comment, Cooper Rand has agreed not to make false claims about its products in the future and to notify consumers of the limitations of its battery charger.
