Federal prosecutors have subpoenaed state Board of Elections records as part of a grand jury investigation of a 1985 campaign involving Assembly Speaker Mel Miller and state Sen. Marty Markowitz, both Brooklyn Democrats.

Board of Elections spokesman Steven LaFever said Monday that the subpoena, issued by Andrew Maloney, Brooklyn-based U.S. attorney for the Eastern District, seeks Miller's and Markowitz's campaign filings from Jan. 1, 1983 to present.

The subpoena says the material is for use by a grand jury. Prosecutors are also seeking any other correspondence or records filed by Miller and Markowitz with the ...
