Notorious for producing some of the world's most undrinkable wines, New York's Finger Lakes is emerging as Champagne Country that just could outdo that noble wine producing region of France.
Sharing the same latitude as the wine- growing regions of Germany and France's Champagne, the micro-climates produced by the deep lakes give western New York far more agreeable growing conditions for such grapes as chardonnay, pinot noir, riesling and gewurztraminer.
